BookSwap: Get free technical resources and clear up shelf space.
You've got a zillion of 'em! Books from the last platform you worked on ... or books you bought when you were crackin' a problem ... or stuff you've outgrown: code bibles, design guides, development sourcebooks, step by step manuals, handbooks, and encyclopedic references! Some of those tomes are part of your toolbox, but the rest compete for dust in all kinds of places, never to be read ... just languishing on the shelf (or floor, or desk, or under the bed, or some other place we just don't want to know about).
So here's the plan (subject to implementation details):
Code Camp attendees get a coupon for a free book from BookSwap.
- Attendees can trade in books (in reasonably good condition, fairly current, related to software development or IT) to get another BookSwap coupon for a different book.
- We will find a way for those who have used their coupon, don't have a book to swap, and still want another BookSwap book to be able to get it ... it may involve cash or raffle coupons.
